My favorite teacher

Imagen
When I look back at my time in high school, one teacher I remember with a lot of affection is Mr. Juan Francisco. He was my homeroom teacher in first year of high school and also taught us project design. For me, he was the best teacher I ever had. It wasn’t just because of how well he taught, but because he genuinely cared about every one of us. What made Mr. Juan Francisco special was his dedication. He was always there to help, support, and motivate us to improve, not only as students but as people. I learned so much from him, both in class and in life. He explained things clearly, but what stood out the most was his ability to understand and connect with us. In class, we called him "profe pollo" because he reminded us of the chicken character from Toy Story . It was a funny nickname that brought joy to the classroom and made our time with him even more memorable. I really hope I get to see him again someday. He’s the kind of teacher who makes a lasting impact, and I feel

My September 18th week

In this blog, I want to talk about my September 18th week. This year, it was a very calm week for me. I was really, really tired, so when I didn’t have classes, I spent most of the time sleeping and resting. One night, I went to a house party hosted by my good friend Martín. While the party was fun, it wasn’t the best night for me. I had a stomach problem, and mixing drinks made it worse. Even though I wasn’t feeling my best, it was nice to hang out with my friends for a bit before heading home to rest again. I also spent some quality time with my family. We got together, ate, and just enjoyed each other’s company. It was a great way to relax and recharge. Besides that, I took the time to finally clean my room. After weeks of university work piling up, my room was a mess! But I managed to organize everything, which made me feel a lot better. That’s how my week went: relaxing, spending time with family, and getting things back in order

My 5 favorites

Hi everyone, today I’m going to talk about my 5 favorites. I’ve picked a song, a film, a piece of technology, a book, and a trinket that mean a lot to me. Let’s dive in! 1. Favourite Song: "Something About Us" by Daft Punk This song takes me to another world. The melody is soft, smooth, and just transports me to another galaxy every time I hear it. It feels like the perfect soundtrack to those quiet, reflective moments in life when you're just in your own zone, thinking about things that matter to you. 2. Favourite Film: La La Land I absolutely love La La Land . It’s not just a love story, but also about dreams, passions, and the tough decisions that life throws your way. The music, the colors, the emotions – everything about this movie hits me every time I watch it. It’s such a visually stunning film with an incredible message. 3. Favourite Technology: My Phone My phone is probably my favorite piece of tech. I use it for so many things – taking photos, listening to music

My Cultural Radar

Hi classmates, I recently delved into Sue Perkins’ cultural highlights and found them fascinating. What struck me most was her candid reflection on The Bear . Sue admitted that she initially disliked the show’s chaotic energy, particularly in the first episode, but eventually, it won her over. She was especially captivated by Jamie Lee Curtis’s performance in the “Fishes” episode, which she described as a standout. This resonated with me because it highlights how our perceptions of art can evolve, often leading to a deeper appreciation. Sue also shared her admiration for Nina Conti’s film Sunlight . She’s intrigued by Conti’s unique approach, blending comedy with darker psychological themes. The film, shot in the visually stunning landscapes of New Mexico, promises to be both an entertaining and thought-provoking experience. In literature, Sue revisited Angela Carter’s Wise Children , a book she first encountered in university. She praised its rich, Shakespearean references and its im

A day to remember

Working together at the Catholic University Innovation Event. Good friendships have a way of weaving themselves into every aspect of life, and that’s exactly how it is with Marita, Nacha, and Sofi. We first crossed paths during last year’s university initiation, and from that moment on, we’ve been inseparable. The shared classes, late-night study sessions, and countless experiences have only deepened our connection, making us more like family than just friends. Recently, we had the chance to take our friendship to a new level by working together at an innovation event organized by the Catholic University. Our role was to manage the accreditation process, ensuring that attendees were smoothly checked in and out of the venue. While this might sound like a straightforward task, the day was far from ordinary. What made this experience truly special was the fact that it was our first time working as a team outside of our usual academic environment. We were excited to tackle this challenge
